Building beyond ordinary: a decade of The Bubble Co.

When I first started The Bubble Co. in 2016, I never imagined it would turn into a multi-million-dollar marketing agency, or a company that would lead to the founding of more companies, or a journey that would take me across continents.

It started with a small idea (as Big Ideas often do), born from a decade of discomfort. I’d spent a decade working in corporate, trying to settle into an office environment where I felt I could truly be myself. Each role began with the promise that things would be different, but it simply wasn’t happening. After 10 years, I finally faced a truth that felt both terrifying and liberating: I didn’t fit in.

It wasn’t a failure on my part; the corporate world just wasn’t for me.

And it’s from this realisation that the small idea was born. If the environment I needed didn’t exist, could I build it? I needed an environment that honoured high performance and big vision. A space that allowed for delivery of outstanding marketing campaigns and attracted like-minded brands and people. A workplace that celebrated flexibility and allowed creativity to truly shine.

In 2016, working remotely and championing flexibility wasn’t the cool thing to do. Most people thought I was crazy. Some (actually, many) warned me that such a business model wouldn’t last.

As it turns out, a traditional nine-to-five in an office isn’t right for many others, too. There are brilliant, talented, driven people out there who are feeling suppressed in traditional structures, who know they could do their best work if only they had the freedom to work differently.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve managed to find a bunch of those people who share the vision with me. Together, we are The Bubble Co. High-performing marketers who prove every single day that you don’t need to sacrifice excellence for flexibility, or creativity for results. We’ve helped businesses thrive, pushed the envelope for brands that may not have ever considered doing so, weathered a pandemic, and stood stoic in the face of global economic instability. That’s a lot to be proud of.

Which means that it’s a good a time as any to unveil a new creative brand direction. Our new logo, branding, and tagline describe us well, and reflect exactly where we are in our journey.

We’re proud of our roots, so we’re not letting go of that entirely. We’ve grown, learned, and evolved alongside our partners, and it’s time to reflect that evolution. We’re a little more refined and carry the maturity and confidence that comes from a decade of doing what we love and doing it exceptionally well.

The essence of what we do and who we are hasn’t changed. We’re still the same fab (and growing) team, committed to the same values and delivering the elite quality you’ve come to expect. Our new tagline, Rise beyond ordinary, speaks to the core reason we exist: to help you rise above the masses (as bubbles do) and stand out in a crowded marketplace. It’s also a reflection of our own journey; we chose to rise beyond the ordinary way of doing things, to build something extraordinary. This has been our mantra since day dot and continues to serve as our north star.

I want to take a moment to thank you for your contribution to our journey over the last 10 years. Some of you supported us in big ways; becoming long-term partners, referring us to others, trusting us with your biggest campaigns. Others supported us in smaller but equally meaningful ways; a kind word when we needed it, belief in our vision when others doubted, or simply choosing to work with us when you had countless other options. Regardless of how you’ve shown up, we’re grateful for every bit of your support.

This business has genuinely changed my life. It’s given me purpose, fulfillment, and the freedom to live life on my own terms (yes, that still means working incredibly hard, and I love it!). And it’s changed the lives of many of our team members too. None of this would have been possible without your support, and for that, I am so deeply grateful.

The impact ripples further than you might realise. We’ve helped mothers with young children return to work in a flexible environment, continuing to grow their careers without making the choice between parenting and professional ambition. We’ve helped people improve their mental and physical health, all by simply giving them the flexibility to work in a way that suits their lives better. We’ve made it possible for people to travel while they work and even make permanent moves across Australia and overseas, without losing income and opportunity. We’ve supported people through illness, through loss, and through major life transitions. In today’s world flexibility isn’t just a perk, it’s a standard.

So, when you’ve worked with us and supported us, you’re not only getting stellar marketing expertise; you’re also enabling real change in people’s lives. You’re choosing to invest in a business model that values humans as much as it values results. This is not something we take for granted. For that, you will always have our support back.

As I look toward the next decade, I’m filled with excitement about what’s possible. We’ve built something sustainable, something meaningful, something that makes a real difference. And we’re just getting started.

What I envisioned was an escape from corporate constraints, a small team doing great work with flexibility. What I got was an opportunity to go beyond anything I could have imagined. It’s allowed me to create opportunities for others that didn’t exist in the traditional world, to push through boundaries I didn’t even know were there, to overcome challenges I never anticipated facing, and to scale without losing my soul.

This journey has taught me that limitations are often just a lack of imagination, and that when you create space for people to thrive, they’ll show you possibilities you never dreamed of.
